I read a lot at the Hangout about the use of modified soundsets and dickspeed and that made me think about my compositions. 100% of my better pieces require a soundset and that really made me want to do something with the original soundset, and here's the outcome: It's the theme that plays in Banjo-Tooie when you're at the destroyed Spiral Mountain. This theme is (obviously) much sadder than the Banjo-Kazooie version and that's probably the reason why it hasn't been done so far on Mario Paint. However, I have to say that I like this theme much more than it's "older brother" although I've never been a big fan of Banjo-Tooie. It perfectly reflects the sad atmosphere after Gruntilda killed Bottles and left her troops at the Spiral Mountain to destroy the whole landscape. This seemed pretty easy to me, which is also a reason why I chose it for my first real non-soundset-piece. I'm not too satisfied with this, but that's probably because I'm already used to soundsets and... well, let's say "better" instruments. Also, I'm definitely going to redo this somewhen, with a modified soundset, just because I love this theme so much. This was really fun to do and I really enjoyed working with the original soundfont again. Hopefully, I'll do more compositions that way :) About the animal sounds: -In the first file, I used them as kind of percussion. -Then in files 2-9 the dogs are basically a second bass line (which I made myself, so expect nothing great :P) -For the rest I just left them out I'm asking you now to tell me which of those variations you like best. It's just that I wasn't sure what to do, so I tried a bit of everything and now I want to hear (or read...) my viewer's opinions :) Enjoy! EDIT: Make sure to watch my remake of this song!
