Many of you know that I really enjoy cassettes. I have most of my life. Although I do not use them nearly as much as I used to, I still get rather excited when I stumble upon new, still sealed blank tapes. There are still a few places out there that sell them. Many of you are familiar with the online retailer Temu. They sell a little bit of everything. I was quite amused to recently discover that they also sell blank cassettes. I decided to order one and give it a try. Now, the first thing I noticed when I saw the listing for this cassette was its length. It is only 30 minutes long, with 15 minutes on either side. I found that very odd. What a short tape length! What can you possibly do with a 30 minute blank tape? Not much. As I mention in the video, I doubt you could even fit an entire album on one of these cassettes. But what about the sound quality? How does this tape actually perform? That is what I look at in this video. In the first part, I test how it sounds recording my voice. Then, I record a digital source and see how well it copies that. The original source for the piece of music is a compact disc. Of course, I did not get my hopes too high. I only paid about $3 for this tape. So I wasn't expecting much. There are many online retailers these days like Temu who offer items for very low prices. I have also seen videos where people buy rather cheap photographic film on sites like this. Of course, as with anything, the buyer must always beware. I find often that if the price seems too good to be true, it probably is. How did it sound? Does it sound okay? Did it record my voice somewhat faithfully? And how did the recording of the music sound? Watch the video to find out! Feel free to leave a comment!
