The "O Brother, Where Art Thou" soundtrack was a huge inspiration to me as a kid musically, I remember riding down the backroads of West Virginia as my mom blared it over the speakers of her mini-van. In grade school, my friends and I would belt out the lyrics of "Man of Constant Sorrow" on the riverbank while fishing for small-mouth bass and whatever else would bite, we were the true "Soggy Bottom Boys" or though we imagined to ourselves to be!! As a kid of course, I thought it was George Clooney singing the song on the movie. Life went on and years later my friend David at ‪@TruthfulSessions‬ told me that he was going to be recording ‪@dantyminskiofficial‬ , "the guy who sang "Man of Constant Sorrow" on the movie". A few weeks later I was able to catch a Dan Tyminski show a few minutes from my house in Charleston, West Virginia... It was at this show that I learned how truly awesome of a writer and performer Dan was, he really inspired me to keep digging musically and artistically that evening. Months later I was able to link up with Dan at ‪@DelFest1‬ in Cumberland, Maryland to record the song "Hey Brother" and a few original songs by him. Working with Dan was a bucket list session for me personally, and I truly thank the radiowv supporters for supporting the channel to allow me to go out and search for these special moments in the field with true Artists. Enjoy The Story of the Song “Hey Brother” One day, Dan Tyminski got a call from his assistant saying there was an offer for him to sing on an EDM track. Dan had no idea what EDM even was at the time, so his assistant explained it stood for Electronic Dance Music. His first reaction was to say no. Before turning it down completely, Dan decided to run it by his teenage daughter. He texted her and asked, “Do you know who Avicii is?” She replied, “Yes — he’s a Swedish DJ, a genius, and my favorite artist!” Dan texted back, “Well, he wants me to sing on a song for him.” His daughter immediately shot back, “Bullsh*t.” After he convinced her the offer was real, she told him, “Dad, if you don’t do this, I’m out.” The rest was history. That collaboration became “Hey Brother” — a song that went on to reach audiences all over the world and earn 27× Platinum certifications, with none other than Dan Tyminski as the voice behind it.
