The ending is fairly straightforward — it involves The Bearded Man jumping the turnstile of the Parisian subway, slipping on the metal, and landing with his head on the pavement. The police were too angry to want to take him to the hospital, but like many drunken, idiotic moments, he turned out fine eventually. The beginning of the story started with a bottle of wine and a boat tour of the Seine with a good friend and a local girl. The Eiffel tower was dotted with lights, illuminating the night sky. At a certain point in time, our hero’s friend was imitating Titanic, slipped, and ended up in the river. Did we mention it was winter? They tried to tell the boat captain what happened, but by the time they could circle back around, the friend was nowhere to be found. Thus began a frantic search that had the pair running throughout the city and chasing subways. They didn’t find their friend that night. When The Bearded Man finally woke up in the hospital, they sent him back to his hotel. No one knows how it happened, but when our hero came to in his hotel room the next morning, he opened his hotel door. Sitting in front of the door, completely soaked and covered in dirt was the friend, passed out. He was holding a half-eaten kebab in his hand. What a lion. The universe is a funny, strange place.
