Diagnostic images may become out of date very quickly once the surgery has begun. Real-time, accurate intra-operative data is critical, not only to monitor tumor resection but to know at all times where and how normal and diseased tissue have moved. Images can be acquired at any time during the procedure and offer an adequate picture of what is happening during the procedure.
