Before the promise, there is often a test. Before the real love God sends, there will sometimes be a temptation. Not everything that feels good is God. Not everything that comes back is meant to stay. Not everyone who says "I love you" is assigned to keep you. Sometimes we go back because we want to feel chosen. We want to feel wanted. We want to feel something. But moving before God says move will have you opening your heart to someone who isn't even in a committed state of mind with you. And that's not love - that's premature access. I truly believe one of the greatest gifts God gave me was the last relationship that ended. Because in the ending, I found clarity. I found discipline. I found peace. I found myself. Freedom feels better than dysfunction ever did. And the Word says the enemy prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8). That doesn't just mean obvious danger. Sometimes it's distraction. Sometimes it's a familiar voice. Sometimes it's a person sent right when you're leveling up - to see if you'll settle. The enemy sends options. God sends alignment. The enemy sends urgency. God sends peace. The enemy sends confusion. God sends confirmation. And I've learned: if I have to force it, chase it, convince it, or shrink for it - it's not from Him. You are not the only one who has been tempted. You are not the only one who has been tested. And walking away from what once felt like love does not mean you failed. Sometimes walking away is the breakthrough. Guard your heart. Wait on God. Don't trade destiny for temporary affection.
