Cavallino Matto: Home of Europe's ONLY STAND-UP COASTER! - 01/09/2025 Vlog

Subscribe, share, like and comment for more content! On the third day of my August/September trip, i decided to do the journey from Rome to Tuscany. From 6:00 to approximately 11:45 in the morning, i took a total of 3 trains to reach Castagneto Carducci Marina, a small fraction of the main town Castagneto Carducci near the coast. Notabke for being the home of ‪@cavallinomattoparcodiverti115‬. What once was a horse farm (that is still present next to the amusement park), was transformed into an amusement park towards the late 90's. The name derives from the behavior of a specific horse, and It can be translated as "Crazy Horse". For several years, Cavallino Matto was small and not really attractive, until the Manfredini family bought the park in 2006. Since then, they have been managing the whole place and in recent years they begun restoring and expanding the park's lineup with new rides and extensive theming. Cavallino Matto is notable for being the home of Freestyle, which is the only stand-up coaster in Europe at the moment (following the conversion of Drayton Manor's Shockwave). Many of Canadians could recognize this ride, as it was the famed SkyRider at Canada's Wonderland (closed in 2014). The management takes a really good care of the ride, having completely refurbished the rollercoaster and managing to keep it decently smooth. Recently, the park is investing in new themes and areas as they bought several used rides from the defunct Miragica such as Pirati (the Hydrolift Rapids), Dynamite (the new-for-2026 Zamperla Disk'O once known as Girabugia) and several others. What you won't see on camera is that i managed to know and have a huge talk with the family and owners. It was amazing to speak with someone so competent and passionate about their establishment.
