This cat has stopped eating for one week. I palpated his bladder which was fully distended. He had a painful posterior abdomen. His large intestines were filled with hard faecal lumps which pressed around the neck of the bladder causing the pain in the posterior abdomen. This cat had severe constipation. This video shows the vet giving an enema via the rectal area of the cat. After giving the tube enema, the cat pooped in a litter tray and went home with painkillers. There was no need to give rectal lubricant before inserting the enema tube. He recovered. No other tests like x-ray of abdomen were done as the owner wanted the lowest medical costs. The owner was asked to feed his cat a dry diet that would not lead to constipation or home-cooked food.
