Quiet | Matilda the Musical | 10th Anniversary Celebration

Earlier this week marked the 10th anniversary of Matilda the Musical since it premiered in Stratford-upon-Avon. The show went from the Courtyard Theatre to the West End and around the world. Since then, the RSC production has been on Broadway, UK & Ireland Tour, US Tour, Toronto, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Singapore, China and Manila. I’ve gathered some of the leading ladies of the show to create this very special performance of ‘Quiet’ to mark this occasion. This truly is one of my favourite songs and scenes from the show. I have to admit that it’s rather challenging to make this video because when fifteen Matildas singing ‘Quiet’ together could easily ‘Loud’- and in the show, they all performed it in a slightly different tempo with different lengths of pauses between lines. But I think it has turned out to be a very very beautiful performance. It’s a real honour for me to be able to make this video with the lead actresses from my favourite show. I’ve seen some of their performances before and it’s lovely to listen to them singing the song again. A massive thank you to all these Matildas for their participation. This is the most number of Matildas ever to perform this song together. We hope you enjoy this special performance as much as we enjoyed making this video.
