Sensoji Temple Butsushōe Flower Festival Tuesday, April 8, 2025 Sensōji Temple's Butsushōe (Flower Festival) is a traditional event held every year on April 8 to celebrate the birthday of Buddha. On this day, the main hall and the grounds are set up with "flower halls," and the temple is crowded with worshippers who pour sweet tea on the newborn Buddha to give thanks. The memorial service starts at 10 a.m. to honor the birth of Buddha, who was born in the flower gardens of Lumbini about 2,500 years ago.
