Supetar is the biggest place place and the administrative centre on the island of Brač.. It is located in the north of the island and is oriented to the mainland, from which it is separated by the Brač channel. It’s connected to Split by ferry. The Church of the Annunciation of Mary can be found in the centre of this place and is protected as cultural heritage. It was constructed at the beginning of the 17th century. However, in 1729 it suffered damage in a fire and needed restoration. The restorations were completed four years later in baroque style, which has remained as such until today.
