(28 Aug 1995) Two shells hit the centre of Sarajevo Monday morning (28/8), killing 31 people and wounding at least 60. The shells fell in the city's main street at about 0900 GMT. The street was littered with dead and wounded and awash with blood and broken glass. Kosevo hospital in Sarajevo was virtually overwhelmed with victims of the shelling. Wards and hallways were packed with the seriously wounded while those with lesser wounds were left to wait outside. Immediately after the shelling dozens of cars packed with the injured arrived at the hospital.
