Located at the intersection of Hongqi Street & Tongde Street in the Chaoyang District of Changchun, this attractive mall was built at a cost of 370 million USD (2.6 billion RMB). It's a modern shopping mall with lots of shopping & entertainment to keep the whole family happy. In 2019 this mall was the scene of multiple bomb explosions carried out by a fed up man (identified as Guo Moutao) who went berserk. After killing another man with whom he had an economic dispute with, Guo came to this busy Wanda Plaza in Changchun at noon on January 25th, intent on causing havoc. He detonated an explosive on a vehicle that was parked in the underground carpark before setting off at least 17 other bombs around the complex, fortunately killing nobody. He then returned to his rented 30th-floor apartment above the mall & blew himself up.
