Being a new nurse is hard, and many new nurses get overwhelmed during the transition from nursing student to new nurse. First, you have to actually graduate. Next, you have to study and pass NCLEX. Finally, you have to being orientation. The whole process for a new nurse graduation can be overwhelming. 2. Anxiety. New nurses can become very emotional and filled with all sorts of anxiety. You can begin to worry that you'll make a medical blunder and harm a patient. You might worry that you're going to forget basic skills or concepts that you learned in nursing school. You might also fear talking to doctors. It can be very hard learning to document efficiently, performing nursing skills quickly, monitoring and assessing patients, admitting and discharging patients, etc. All of this abrupt change can lead to disillusionment for new nurses, and some even question whether they can keep up with the work. However, the good news is that these are all normal things that most all new nurses go through.
