The Commodore 64 Ultimate plays a full album of eight vaporwave mallsoft tracks with soft relaxing vibes through its Ultimate Audio feature. The sound is from the actual 22.5 Khz 8-bit PCM files playing on the C64 Ultimate, including the period accurate hum and artifacts introduced during the conversion process. The music was downsampled and compressed in order to fit into 16 MB RAM Expansion Unit (REU) files which were then played back using the Breadamp audio player program on the Commodore 64 Ultimate. The C64 Ultimate is outputting to a vintage Commodore 1902A monitor, with subtle moiré patterns and wandering raster lines adding to the ambiance to the performance.
