No copyright Feel free to share Boundless merit Amitabha Buddha 🙏🙏🙏 The Whole Avatamsaka Sutra in One Simple Line (It all comes down to twenty Chinese characters, one simple truth of awakening.) “Even though the Buddha spoke at length about countless causes and conditions, it was all for one great purpose. And what is this great purpose? To open and reveal the Buddha’s wisdom so that all beings may awaken.” The commentary explains: “The Avatamsaka Sutra was the World-Honoured One’s first teaching after enlightenment; the Lotus Sutra was His final teaching before parinirvana. From beginning to end, everything He taught was for this one great purpose.” This is truly not false. When Śākyamuni Buddha awakened and realised His true nature, He shared what He had seen what this Nature is and how it works. From that realisation came the great Avatamsaka Sutra. Later, when Great Master Huineng awakened, he spoke only one simple line twenty Chinese characters in all. We must not take them lightly. Why? Because they carry the same truth that Śākyamuni Buddha expressed in the entire Avatamsaka Sutra. In essence, the whole teaching comes down to this one line: “How unexpected! Our own nature is originally pure, originally unborn and undying, originally complete in itself, originally still and unmoving, and able to give rise to all things.” The whole Avatamsaka Sutra is an expansion of this one simple line explained in great detail, but its meaning remains exactly the same.
