First time ever racing Waukegan BMX — limited practice, and I pulled my back before the gate drop. Race 3 of 10 in my Multi-State Title Push — and it got real fast. Race 3 of 10 | Multi-State BMX Championship Journey With only limited morning practice, this weekend was all about how quickly I could adapt, learn the rhythm, and figure out fast lines against a field of experienced riders — including a new competitor racing on his home track. During practice, my back tightened up and I pulled it, which immediately changed the day. Gate snap wasn’t there, and I couldn’t put down the laps I wanted. I had to be smart, limit practice, stretch constantly, and manage the situation while keeping my head in the race. Not ideal — but these are the days that test your mettle. It wasn’t my cleanest run, but I put together the right lines, stayed composed, and made the moto in a tough class. Sometimes it’s not about perfection — it’s about adapting, racing smart, and earning the result. And honestly? There’s nothing better than lining up and mixing it up with stand-up guys.
