Is this speedrun trick even worth it? (Mega Man 2, NES) - A Wild Glitch Appears!

Here's a fairly complicated glitch in Mega Man 2 that allows you to zip through a not-very-long section of Dr. Wily Stage 2. This speedrun trick saves maybe a second or two, but it requires you to stand in a pit of spikes during an invincibility period, which makes it a risky maneuver. Walk to the edge of the first platform in Wily Stage 2. This is where you would normally use Item 2 to fly across this treacherous pit of spikes and grab a ladder on the other side. Instead of playing this stage normally LIKE A FILTHY CASUAL GAMER, equip Item 1 and take damage from one of the weird suction cup enemy guys right at the edge of the platform. While Mega Man is flickering, take advantage of his invincibility and run across the spikes to the right. Just before your invincibility wears out, jump and place an Item 1 platform in mid-air. You'll want the center of the platform to be just to the right of the corner of the ceiling above you. If you placed the Item 1 in the correct spot, you can stand on the right edge of the platform and it will push you up into the ceiling. Make sure you are FACING RIGHT. Once Mega Man is pushed into the ceiling, tap B then tap LEFT. This will cause Mega Man to zip to the right. However, the ceiling becomes narrower just before the ladder we need to reach, and Mega Man will fall from the ceiling into the spikes. So, just after Mega Man begins to fall, press START to pause the game, then unpause and hold UP. This should reset Mega Man's vertical momentum, allowing him to stay in the ceiling just long enough to grab the ladder. Now climb up the ladder, throw another Item 1, jump ON TOP of the destroyable doors, and walk over them to the right. Congratulations! You just did a lot of work to save maybe one second of your time, BUT THAT'S KINDA COOL!
