After more than half a century working for the Associated Press, one of the oldest new agencies of the U.S.A, Nick Ut retired in early 2017. In May 2017, he presented 5 photos to the Vietnam Women Museum. Among five photos, four were taken by Nick Ut and one by his colleague, capturing the moment when Nick Ut helped save Phan Thi Kim Phuc, a girl who got severely injured a Napalm attack on June 8, 1972 in Trang Bang, Tay Ninh. Nick Ut also presented a camera that he used when he was a war correspondent in Vietnam to the Women Museum. The Nikkormat camera which was always wanted by museums around the world is now present at a Hanoi-based museum, helping more visitors better understand about the Vietnam War.
