Get personalized help www.neurodivergentmom.net Looking for ADHD strategies to boost your productivity as a mom? In this video, we'll share 5 tips to help you unlock "supermom" mode and stay on top of your busy schedule! HERE ARE THE 5 RULES: Number 1. The Right Hand Rule. This is so typical for ADHD moms. We pick up one thing to put away and on the way we spot something else. So we pick that up with our other hand. But now we’re confused. Which one is the priority? What were we trying to do in the first place? Don’t even think. Just action the thing that’s in your right hand. Number 2. Put clocks everywhere. Including one on your wrist. This is a non-negotiable. Time-blindness is a real thing for ADHD people. So you should be able to see an actual physical analog clock from every corner of your house. Number 3. SAME PLACE and ONLY ONE PLACE for that thing. Always put your glasses in the same place. Always put your keys in the same place. Always put your bag in the same place. Remember this quote. “Everything has a place and everything is in its place.” This of course won’t work if one thing has two homes. So just don’t do that. One thing. Only one place. Number 4. Real. Paper. Notes. Here’s my exact system. Get a tiny notebook. Write your to do list on it. Cross things off as you get it done. Once the whole paper is crossed off, rip it off and bin it. I’ve tried post-it’s before and digital notes, nothing works as well as this for ADHD. Number 5. ONLY ONE THING EACH DAY. This is the new GOLDEN RULE in our family. We only do one thing each day. At least the kids and I do that. So that means if it’s a school day, then we don’t have an after-school program except for maybe going to the playground and for a bike around the neighbourhood. If we want company, we invite people over for dinner but we don’t go out. It’s just too much. We have the same rule for the weekend. I slashed our family calendar. I cancelled extra activities and courses for the kids and me. It’s just too much. Less is more when it comes to running a family as an ADHD mom.
