I THOUGHT I WOULD DIG IT OUT AND DO MY TYPICAL EDITING AND REMASTERING AND SHARE IT HERE ON YOUTUBE FOR THE FUSION FANS. MY OTHER EDITED AND REMASTERED MAHAVISHNU ORK VIDEOS ARE VERY POPULAR. ONE FAN IN EUROPE DONATED $50 AS A THANK YOU!! WOW!! THIS CONCERT RECORDING WAS FULL OF LOW LEVEL STATIC AND A NAGGING TAPE HISS. IT TOOK ME ABOUT 20 OR 30 MINUTES TO DETERMINE HOW TO BEST DE-NOISE THE FILES. FINALLY AFTER SEVERAL METHODS I HIT ON ONE THAT REMOVED 99% OF THE NOISE YET KEPT MUSIC INTEGRITY INTACT. I THEN SPECIALLY EQ'D EVERYTHING AND ADDED A TOUCH OF REVERB FOR A FULLER SOUND. I THINK IT SOUNDS GREAT -- TO MY ULTRA-PICKY EARS. THERE WERE ABRUPT STOPS OF SOME SONGS AND I DID MY BEST TO DO A GRADUAL FADE OUT TREATMENT. ABRUPT STARTS, I LEFT INTACT TO KEEP ALL THE MUSIC THERE. OVERALL, I AM PLEASED AND FUSION FANS SHOULD ENJOY IT. ANY OTHER VERSIONS OF THIS CONCERT ON YOUTUBE ARE INFERIOR. JUST THE FACTS. I ALREADY CHECKED INTO THAT. John McLaughlin interview in a magazine, in which he said this one concert had been particularly good. Also there was a yoga convention taking place in the same building at the time, and he said he thought there was kind of a vibe in the whole building for that reason." "Though an excellent show (well...isn't every vintage Mahavishnu show pure excellence?) this is definitely not from Montreux 1972. I've had this recording for many years and here some of the notes I have saved for it: "This show came originally labeled as: Montreux Jazz Festival 20 August 1972. I and others are sure this is not Montreux but in fact "Montreal Canada July 13, 1973" the opening date of the 'Between Nothingness & Eternity tour' where they recorded the live LP in New York a month later. This used to be traded amongst collectors as "unknown USA 8/1973". The song list is nothing like they played or even the way they played some of the songs in August 1972. A lot of people think the title of "Montreux" is correct but I am sure it isn't so now it will be one of those shows where collectors have to adjust their thinking when people list it and I guess it will remain a mystery until the records at the radio station archives can be checked. A French Canadian saying a show is "Montreal" to a non-French speaking person can easily be misunderstood to have said "Montreux" which is how I think the mistake happened."
