Aging with dignity: the potential of regenerative medicine | Tracey Criswell | TEDxGreensboro

Stimulating muscle, tissue, and organ regeneration is a developing field in cell research. Regenerative medicine has potential for changing some of the effects of aging such as decreased bone density, increased hypertension, and reduced organ function. Perhaps in the future stem cell technology can be used to avoid many kinds of surgeries done to heal injuries. Dr. Tracy Criswell is a cell biologist at the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine, where she studies how skeletal muscle regenerates after injury, how regeneration changes as we age, and what can be done about it.
