The procedure is performed under general anesthesia, as outpatient care with release the same evening or an overnight stay at the hospital, as the patient prefers. Healing and the location of the scar depends on the complexity of the operation. In relatively simple operations, rhinoplasty using a closed technique produces no external scar (the scar is located inside the nose). For more complicated procedures, a small scar located under the nose eventually becomes invisible. No bandages are needed after eight days. Patients must wait six months to one year for the final result. The nose will continue to change and improve for the most natural possible appearance.
