Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. So I've been ignoring my other samplers recently because I've been obsessed with the way my beats have been sounding on the MV-8000. Roland has always been the masters of making great effects. Whether its Boss series samplers (Sp-202 or SP-303) or the Roland SP-404, 404sx, Sp-555, SP-808 (I mean you get the idea) The Roland MV-8000 is also no slouch in this category. It punches through nicely, you can get super gritty with the MV and super clean depending on your taste & style of music. I've really been enjoying it, I know I sound like a broken record. I plan on using midi to use my newly acquired EPS with the MV to see how they work together. Here are two beats on the MV that have that LO-FI sound that I've been creating lately. The first is better than the second beat in my opinion just because of the structure of the arrangement and how I was able to really change up the feeling and flow of the music with my chops. Like I mentioned I've been getting really technical with signal processing. Manipulating the sounds to taste to really try expand the horizon while still keeping the integrity of the beat I am trying to achieve. I don't know, there is something satisfying about making beats on the MV. Maybe it's because I feel I am show casing the potential of the machine to the many people who never got the opportunity to really understand it's capabilities. I am by no means a Roland MV-8000 master, I'll leave that to the legendary WAXDAT but I have a feeling that maybe by making more beats on the Roland MV-8000, and showing what I am able to do with it, people will give it a chance.
