Woodturning - My Family Love This Piece!

The trailer for Let's Talk Shop (my mini podcast/voiceover series) will launch over the weekend. Let me know if you're excited. I've been looking forward to making this piece for a long time. I am a massive fan of rugby, and every year my family and I sit down together and watch all of the Six Nations games. Over the last 3 years, we have played fantasy six nations, which I have never won.... grrrr. This year, with the hope of a win, I made this trophy to mark the special occasion. This trophy will last us another 9 years of Six Nations tournaments, with every winner choosing the wood they would like the plague to be made from. Roll on the 4th of February! The trophy body is made from Yew sanded to 10000 grit, the base is English Oak sanded to 2000 grit, and the three winner's plaques in order by year are; Holm Oak, Wenge, and Spalted Silver Birch. This piece has been finished with a variety of finishes, such as Danish Oil, Sanding Sealer, and Wood wax. Let me know what you think, and if you too are a lover of rugby!
