Once you have your job, the hospital, recruitment, and their respective lawyers will work together to create a Petition packet that you bring when you obtain your TN Visa. Step 2: Obtain TN visa Once you have received your petition letter from your workplace in the mail, you go to the Canadian/American border and give them the petition packet. Included in the packet: ⦁ Form G-28, Notice of Appearance as Attorney or Representative (created by hospital lawyers) ⦁ Letter in support of the TN classification and job description (created by the hospital) ⦁ Other evidence and supporting documentation ⦁ EducationalDocumentation (transcripts, degree, proof of NCLEX Passing) ⦁ Resume ⦁ Copy of Visa Screen from CGFNS ⦁ Copy of Licensure (Provincial RN license) ⦁ Passport Note: Also bring the real copies of these documents to the border Once the TN visa is accepted, you will receive a stamp or a piece of paper stapled in your passport. Step 3: Obtain a Social Security Number (SSN) Once you have your TN visa, you can go to the Social Security office in the USA to obtain your SSN. Bring your passport with your TN visa and go to the office to apply. Then wait for the SSN card to come in the mail. Step 4: Create Breeze (California Board of Nursing-CaBON) Account Go to Breeze.ca.gov and create your account. This is where you will need to have your SSN to create your account and apply for your RN license. What’s needed in Breeze: University ⦁ Official Transcript from University of Windsor ⦁ Transcript Part 2:Page 12 and Page 16 of Course breakdown (Send Email to university) Obtain your official nursing transcripts and ask them to send the completed course breakdown pdf back to the California Board of Nursing. College/Board of Nurses in your Province ⦁ Proof of NCLEX and License form Contact your college of nurses based on your province and request that they send your NCLEX passing and your proof of nursing license to CaBON. Fingerprint Card ⦁ Fingerprint card Step 5: Fingerprint Card The fingerprint card will be sent in the mail to your home. Once you have the card, go to a verified fingerprint office and get your fingerprints completed. Once completed, send the fingerprint off in the mail to the Department of Homeland Security address that they request. From here, you will wait for an email from CaBON to determine if you have any deficiencies and work from there to obtain your license.
