Ladakh Unrest: 4 Dead in Violent Protests, CBI Probes Activist Sonam Wangchuk's NGO | India Today

Protests for Ladakh statehood turned violent, resulting in four deaths and multiple injuries. In response, Wangchuk described government efforts as "too little, too late" and attributed the violence to public anger over unmet demands. Amid the tense situation, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has initiated a preliminary inquiry into alleged Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act violations by Wangchuk's NGO. While no FIR has been lodged, Ladakh authorities cancelled the land allotted to the NGO in August.
