Guruji Sri Vast: See, many communities can say “ oh we live in a hut, we can live in the top of the tree, we can even dig a hole and we can hide under ground” that is not what it is all about. It is important to know that somehow, the past 50 years we have created an idea about spirituality and ecology. “The people who want to live with the nature need to live in the jungle or become a hippie”. “The one who is spiritual he should live exotic”. “ You can't sit normal, you have to sit in particular asanas”. “You cant say “hello” you have to say “Namaste”. See? So you are disconnected. Spirituality seem to mean “I am practicing something else”. That is why it never expanded. The spirituality must be part of our daily life. The person who wants to live Eco friendly, immediately he makes, “oh this carpet is ecological cotton, this dress is ecological cotton, and his food is cultivated organic, he is buying it from the fair-trade shop, “oh I am Eco friendly”, “my car is solar powered and my shoes are green colored, I am a Eco person”. But our needs and consumptions are the same, we want to change the color of our consumption because we feel guilt. We want to consume better, consume Eco friendly, there is a person living inside who is not happy, this unhappy person wants to consume. Why the ecological imbalances? because of the consumeristic behavior. Why a person consume? No one is interested in consuming but people are consuming because they believe that the consumption can bring happiness into their life. so as long as this person is not happy even if he is living in the jungle, he will take 100 bananas. He want to live in a cave, he will want to have a big cave for him. Because he thinks this big cave will give happiness to him. If one person wants to have a big cave he has to push out all the other living beings from that cave. He is not an ecological person. If the person lives in the jungle “oh I am an Eco friendly person but I am not happy I want to have 100 bananas everyday” then the monkeys will not have enough bananas because he alone will eat all the bananas. So try to understand who is Eco friendly? The one who is happy! The one who is naturally happy and content he will not consume much, whether he is in a city or whether he is the jungle. If the person is not happy he will be destructively consuming. Whether he is in the city or he is in the top of the tree he will be the same, so here the teachings is not changing the color of the consumptions, that happens naturally, I am not particular about organic potatoes, but I am particular about organic humans. When you are organic, when you are natural. See, going to the nature and being natural is two different things, I can go to the beach and lie down “oh I am in the nature, I go to the jungle, I go to the top of the tree, I am IN the nature” you are IN the nature but are you natural?
