A significant proportion of the population across the world will experience shoulder pain daily, yearly, or throughout their lifetime. Given the multidimensional characteristics of this condition and low rates of recovery after treatment, in this talk Professor Haik will discuss the best treatment strategies within the biopsychosocial framework. She will provide an overview of the most recent clinical research and practice guidelines in recognizing mechanisms of shoulder pain and tailoring individualized care plans to optimize clinical outcomes. Biography: Melina Nevoeiro Haik is Professor of Physical Therapy contracted at the Federal University of Sao Carlos, Brazil, where she coordinates the Manual Therapy and Human Functioning Research Group and supervises physical therapy activities at the Interdisciplinary Center for Pain Care.
