In this video, I put the DevTech Audio Gilmour Muff built around the component style of David Gilmour’s legendary #1 Rams Head, up against the Electro-Harmonix Rams Head Reissue to see how they compare in sustain, clarity, and that unmistakable vintage fuzz character *** NB: This is the first version of the Gilmour Muff purchased in 2023 and is now discontinued. The current production pedal is called now called the DG Original. 🎸 Guitar - Chapman Ghost Fret V2 📢 Fender Twin Reverb 🎙️ Audio Interface - Focusrite Scarlett Solo 0:10 - Rams Head and Gilmour Muff Compared 2:25 - Noise Floor Comparison 3:18 - Gilmour Muff Pedal Tones 🏁Final Verdict🏁 Both pedals bring strong Muff-style tones, but there are some clear differences. The DevTech Gilmour Muff has a noticeably higher noise floor, especially when the mids are scooped. Its output is also slightly lower, meaning it needs to be pushed harder to match levels. The EHX Rams Head Reissue feels tighter, quieter, and more consistent straight out of the box. If you enjoyed this video, make sure to subscribe and hit the notification bell.
