We love International Drive, in Orlando Florida. With so many types of attractions, restaurants, entertainment offerings, and more, it can be difficult to decide where to start first. We always recommend ICON Park for its diverse offerings, the walkability of the area, and its close proximity to Universal Studios, Walt Disney World, and SeaWorld, and the semi-centralized location within the main Orlando tourism and attractions area. In this complex, we get our day started on the flagship attractions that this great spot currently offers. The Wheel, a 400ft tall, giant observation wheel, offers sweeping views of the surrounding area, including Universal, Disney, Downtown Orlando, and more. Designed and manufactured by Intamin, this engineering feat weighs about 3,000,000 pounds and is the tallest observation wheel on the North American East Coast. At the base of the wheel, we explore Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum as well as SEA LIFE Aquarium. Embarking on a voyage across the seven seas and oceans, we dive into SEA LIFE’s creatively crafted marine habitats that showcase some amazing creatures from all around the globe. SEA LIFE is the world’s largest family of aquariums and this location in Orlando is a beautiful one. Although it isn’t as big as the theme park aquariums down the road, it is designed to be immersive and intriguing. Madame Tussaud’s Wax museum was next on our list for the red-carpet experience. Allowing us to come face-to-face with some notable celebrities, this museum is both a tribute to those depicted as well as a great place for some amazing photo-ops. We always enjoy strolling the wax models of iconic people, celebrities, music stars, and comic book heroes. Operating for more than 200 years, Madame Tussaud’s is surrounded in a history of its own and is world famous. With rotating figures and exhibits, there’s always something new to see. In addition to these great attractions, we explore the surrounding restaurants including Tin Roof, Yard House, Tapa Toro Spanish Restaurant, Sugar Factory, and more. We also jump aboard the Orlando StarFlyer for heart-thumping ride up its 450-foot tower. The views are amazing, but Sam’s afraid of heights. Don’t mind his screams. Life should be an adventure. Let us be your inspiration! If you love life, community, and the exploration of this world and its cultures, don't miss any of our videos! To make these videos, we are researching locations that are strictly adhering to CDC, state, and local recommendations for safe and sanitary operation during the pandemic. We are visiting on less busy days, such as weekdays, and are ensuring we do our part to minimize the spread of the virus. We are also selecting to visit local businesses and offerings, so our money stays local and helps those who need it within our community. If a business is not taking the health and safety of its customers and employees into account, we are choosing not to support their business. It’s the reasonable thing to do during these crazy times.
