Bluefin Tuna Fishing | Relentless Sportfishing San Diego

Amazing fall fishing for Bluefin Tuna continues. This time we catch crew limits while fishing near San Clemente island aboard the Relentless Sportfishing boat, 60 miles from shore. The fish were very picky to start the day, and would only bite very small hooks and light line. As the evening progressed, we were able to bump up the size of the gear and land them more consistently. Most fish were running in the 35-45 pound rage. I caught the jackpot fish weighing in at 50lbs, while running 25lb test Opsin Fluorocarbon leader. The fish put up a 45 minute fight before I was finally able to land it on my light setup! I was glad to switch to heavier gear later in the day after that scrappy bluefin kicked my butt. Once things got dark we switched over to knife jigs and landed a few before heading for home.
