Today, amidst the ancient, towering rock-cut chambers of the Church of the Virgin Mary at Selime, we made a new friend—a beautiful, gentle cat who decided to be our personal guide. It followed us everywhere, through the narrow corridors and into the vast, silent cathedral halls. We had no treats to offer, just companionship and that seemed to be enough for it. Every step we took, it was right there, a tiny, warm presence in a monumental place carved by history. It’s moments like these that make travel so truly special — finding a little heart to connect with in the most unexpected corner of the world. We fell completely in love with this little soul. We wish we could scoop it up and take it home with us to Singapore, but we know its spirit belongs to these ancient Turkish cliffs. Safe journeys, little guardian.
