Civ 7: Massive Evolution is Happening!

Civilization 7 released around a year ago, and while a lot has changed in that time, it's the upcoming TEST OF TIME update that has me most intrigued. One year on, Civ 7 is testing major changes! One civ per game brings some unique civ 7 twists in this build, with the "Test of Valor" and "Syncretism" mechanics for civs outside of their natural age (their Apex Age). Then, we'll chat the awesome Triumph system that is replacing legacy paths in civ 7. Major triumphs give dedications for the next age, while a minor triumph might give instant rewards. Flowing on nicely from Triumphs, come the new victory conditions. These pointed systems are great to use as they reward play from early ages. I've particularly enjoyed the cultural victory path, and the refined military options. More work is needed on the UI, and I'm unclear on why the scientific victory benefits from the point-based system. Finally, we'll quickly talk about some of the broader balance changes and yield adjustments, and I'll give my quick take on this civ 7 beta playtest, before wrapping up with a discussion on what's next for civ 7.
