After a morning viewing of Eugene Levy (the best prep for any expedition), we tackled the crowds and lines to visit the medieval Palácio Nacional de Sintra (and its famous twin chimneys). But the real adventure began when we left the tourist path! We took a beautiful, steep hiking trail through the woods to reach the ancient Moorish Castle (Castelo dos Mouros), finding some surprising tunnels along the way.
