Our visit to Dealesville was filled with delightful surprises and warm encounters. As we embarked on our journey to the town, we were thrilled to witness a warthog crossing the road with its tail held high while running through the open field, and the sight of farming vehicles along the way added to the rural charm. Upon entering the town, we sensed a contentment and pride among the locals. On the outskirts, we discovered a stunning salt pan, initially mistaken for a dam. In our explorations, we met a gentleman who had taken it upon himself to revive the old sports complex into a beautiful wedding venue and sports facility, and he generously invited us to his renovated guest house, which we would hope to overnight at someday. The church and Voortrekker memorials provided a glimpse into the history and culture of the town. However, the presence of a military contingent left us curious as to why they were there. Departing from Dealesville, we decided to stop at the salt pans one last time. They left us in awe of their natural beauty during sunset.
