Map walls are really cool as they allow you to show off and see your builds and area in Minecraft all in one location. They can also help you find things if you have lost them in your world, and you can also mark things on maps in Minecraft using banners. We show you how to mark maps in Minecraft with banners in this video also allowing you to have really cool map walls showing where everything in your world is located. Thus, without any more delay, here is how to make a map wall in Minecraft! The first step of getting a map wall is gathering all of the materials you will need. The first is a wall to put your maps on. It doesn’t matter what block this is as long as it is a solid block that an item frame can stick to. You also won’t be able to see the wall once maps are up, so keep that in mind. The border around your map is actually more important than the wall itself as you will be able to see the border. Once you have you wall build, we need to make some item frames with sticks a leather, and some maps with paper and compass. The exact craft recipes for these are outlined in the video. You will need enough maps and item frames to cover every single block on your map wall that you want to have a map on. For example, a 5x5 map will need 25 maps and item frames to cover the entire wall. Once you have your map wall created, we can go ahead and start adding maps to it. This is really simple. Just get the empty map in your hand, and right-click. When you do this, the map will fill. Now, move on to your next empty map, go just outside the first map, and right-click again. Next, go outside of the second map, get a blank map, and right-click again. I recommend doing this in a straight line. Come back to the map wall, and add the maps to the item frames on the wall you created. They will fit together perfectly. You will need to keep at least one map though in order to know where to go next. Repeat this process over and over until the maps are created. What if you want to add markers to your maps in Minecraft? Well, in that case, you will need to create a banner. The color of the banner does affect the color of the marker on the map, so keep that in mind. However, once you have your banner created, put it in an anvil, and rename it to the name of the marker you want to put on your map. Next, get the map the marker will go on, go to the location you want the marker to be, and place the banner down. You can hide it underground without any issues. Finally, get the map in your hand, and right-click the banner with the map. You will see the marker appear on your map. You can now add it back to your map wall, and it will still have the marker! And there you have it! You now know how to make a map wall in Minecraft.
