This animation was produced by IKM’s 3D Animation Division to help Teledyne Marine demonstrate the effectiveness with which their Slocum G3 Glider can perform storm and mammal monitoring tasks. Utilising a wide variety of modular payloads and sensors, the Slocum G3 Glider provides near real-time subsurface data, drastically improving hurricane monitoring and storm forecasting. Reconfiguring the glider’s sensors, it can also be used for a range of mammal monitoring tasks from determining biomass of krill for population estimations to monitoring of whale vocalisations to detect, classify and track the movement of important marine mammal species.
