Vitreous Haemorrhage is a condition where bleeding occurs inside the eye in the space between the lens and the retina. This causes severe loss of vision. Most common cause is Diabetic Retinopathy and its complications. It can also occur in cases of vein occlusion, In patients with high blood pressure, retinal tear or detachment, injury to the eye etc. The treatment is aimed at finding the underlying cause and treating them. The treatment may involve giving intravitreal injection of Anti-VEGF agent like Eylea, Accentrix or Razumab. In patients where the blood does not absorb on its own, Vitrectomy Surgery may be required. With advancement of Vitrectomy surgery techniques and better equipments, the results have improved significantly. The surgery has become faster and more reliable and is sutureless. Retinal Laser may be required during the surgery and after the surgery.
