Huub tow float review

The Huub safety tow float is an essential piece of kit of triathletes and swimmers wanting to swim in open water without a wetsuit. It can be worn with a wetsuit, too, if you so wished. You fasten it around your waist and tow it along, providing you with something to grab onto if you cramp up, have a panic attack, or just need a break. The Huub model is bright orange and also serves as a dry bag: you can stash your valuables in the bag before sealing it up and inflating it to keep them safe and dry as you swim. As with most tow floats, there are some downsides: you occasionally kick the thing, both doing front crawl and breaststroke and think that a grindylow has grabbed your leg. It is also a bit tricky to inflate the first time: I have a separate video on that. All in all, a good piece of kit, though.
