Here’s a KG4 that’s in progress. I did a fuel pump conversion on this one using a MK25 transfer port cover that I drilled and tapped to an 1/8” pipe thread and then plumbed a universal Briggs & Stratton fuel pump onto it. You can see this at one point in the video. I had a pressure fed AJ carburetor the same size that I opted to use. It required shortening the filter cover and boss that the cover screw threads into in order to allow the throttle lever to pass over it in normal operation. I also made up some linkage and made what use to be the fuel shut off valve a turneable choke knob instead. I’ll just use a bolt with a little loctite on it with the original choke knob so that it still looks original from the outside. In hind site, I probably could have just retained the original gravity fed carburetor as is, but my concern was poor idle quality with the increased fuel pressure. I’m happy with the way this one runs as is. Now on to making it look pretty…
