With One Piece exploding, we’re now seeing a wave of speculation and buyouts targeting other anime-based card games: Dragon Ball Z, Weiss Schwarz, and more. The logic goes something like this: “If One Piece blew up and these IPs are just as popular (or more popular), they must be next.” That logic is flawed. In this video, I explain why One Piece (and Pokémon) are fundamentally different, and why copying that thesis onto other anime TCGs is dangerous. One Piece didn’t explode because it’s anime. It exploded because it’s a healthy, widely played game. Before collectors and speculators ever moved in, One Piece already had: Strong and growing player numbers Tournament attendance A massive amount of gameplay content Deck analysis, meta breakdowns, and theorycrafting Actual “butts in seats” at events If Dragon Ball Z or other anime TCGs were truly in the same position, we’d see the same signals. So the real question is: Where is the gameplay content? Where are the tournaments? Where are the players? IP alone doesn’t sustain a card game. Collectors alone don’t create stability. This video is a warning, not against anime, but against confusing popularity of an IP with the health of a game. Support our Store: / roguedeckbuilder #MTG #Magic
