DTU: The search for new antibiotics

Antibiotic resistance is a significant threat to human health, and according to the World Health Organisation, 700.000 people die due to infections caused by antibiotic resistant bacteria every year. In 2050, that number could increase to 10 million per year. In this film, professor Lone Gram and associate professor Mikkel Bentzon-Tilia from The Technical University of Denmark (DTU), set out to explain their addition to the efforts of finding novel antibiotics, as more and more bacteria become resistant to the antibiotics that we know and use today.
