In these passages, Jesus presented the nature of true discipleship. He exposed errors about food laws and how the Pharisees exalted tradition over the Scripture. He explained what defilement is, then healed the Syrophoenician demoniac and a deaf man. He fed 4,000 people and exposed the disciples’ hardness of heart. He healed a blind man just before Peter declared that Jesus was the Christ. Next, He prophesied. His death and then spoken directly on discipleship.
