A Pokemon Journey in Japan. Mat4yo, his brother Nick, and Cam Steady traveled through Tokyo and Kyoto during the summer of 2024. There, they accomplished a childhood dream of visiting the land where the Pokemon franchise was born. They scrambled through the streets of Shibuya and climbed the mountains of Arashiyama. They made new friends, like the owners of the cheesesteak shop, 'Nihonbashi Philly,' and reconnected with old friends, such as Pokemon remixer Mewmore and Cam Steady's brother. They visited 6 of the dozen-plus Pokemon Center stores across Japan, and even experienced a limited-time Pokemon exhibit at the Tokyo Sky Tree. They also visited fan-favorite attractions such as Shibuya Sky, teamLab Borderless, and rode the Shinkansen (bullet train) to Kyoto with a view of Mount Fuji in the distance. Mat4yo & Cam Steady first met in 2014, after getting connected on the internet thanks to their shared interest in Pokemon and rapping. This dream trip was the perfect celebration of their 10 years of friendship. Mat4yo & Mewmore first met online in 2016 in the comment section of the latter's sensational remixes of Pokemon songs. Over the years, they collaborated on 3 special rap projects. The stars aligned and allowed these friends from separate countries to meet each other in Japan for the first time.
