Creamy garlic pork chops: https://pin.it/6V4O6oFTl Lemon blueberry muffins: https://pin.it/1d36C4et1 Chewy Oatmeal Cookies Author Fiona Dowling Ingredients 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened 1/2 cup white sugar 1/2 cup brown sugar packed 1 large egg 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 1 tbsp honey 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp salt 1 cup quick oats* 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats* Instructions Preheat the oven to 350F degrees. Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats. In a large bowl beat together the butter and sugars until fluffy. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract and honey. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as necessary. With the mixer on low speed carefully beat in the flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt. Mix in the quick oats and large flake oats. Form the dough into balls about 1 to 1.5 tablespoons in size and place 2 inches apart on the lined cookie sheets. Bake 1 cookie sheet at a time in the middle rack of your oven for 9-11 minutes, or until the tops look just set. Cool the cookies on the baking sheet for at least 5 minutes before transferring to a wire cooling rack and continue cooling. Little glaze sandwiches 24 dinner rolls Sliced ham Cheese Mayonnaise Glaze: 1 cup butter 1/3 cup brown sugar 1 tbsp poppy seeds 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce 2 tbsp mustard Directions:place mayonnaise on dinner rolls.Add sliced ham and cheese. For the glaze mix all the ingredients cook until nice and bubbly and it’s starting to thicken up. Cover the tops of the sandwiches with glaze. Bake at 350 until glaze is set a little and cheese is melted. Note:half the glaze is plenty for 24 dinner rolls. Butter soup 8 c. water 5 medium peeled, diced potatoes 2 kernels star anise 2 bay leaves 6 kernels pepper ½ small onion 2 tbsp parsley ⅛ stick cinnamon ¼ c. butter 3 c. cooked homemade kielki or other noodles 1 tsp. salt 1 Tbsp. chicken bouillon 1 c. whipping cream Bring water to a boil. Add potatoes, onion, butter, salt, and chicken bouillon to boiling water. In tea ball, put parsley, bay leaves, star anise, pepper, and cinnamon; also add to water. Simmer until potatoes are tender, then add noodles and whipping cream. Serve with bread and butter. Makes about 10 servings.
