The adductor brevis has its origin on the inferior pubic ramus and inserts on the linea aspera. The adductor brevis recieves its innervation by the obturator nerve. All three adductors (except the hamstring part of the adductor magnus) and gracilis are supplied by the obturator nerve (anterior divisions of the ventral rami of L2-L4). The main action of the adductor group of muscles is to adduct the thigh at the hip joint. The adductor brevis muscle also participates in external/lateral rotation and flexion of the hip. 0:09 overview over the hip adductors 0:36 origin and insertion of the adductor brevis muscle 0:48 innervation of the adductor brevis muscle 1:00 adductor brevis function Want to test your knowledge on the adductors of the thigh?
