Assemble your equipment: 00:15 Check the MAR: 01:27 Perform hand hygiene: 01:40 Determine the amount of diluent to be added to medication vial: 01:46 Remove protective caps from vials & clean surface: 02:06 Withdraw air from the medication vial equal to the amount of diluent needed: 03:07 Inject air, turn vials upside down, draw the appropriate amount of diluent: 03:30 Inject diluent into medication vial: 04:22 Determine how much medication you will draw (based on your order): 05:18 Draw the medication: 05:33 Cap the needle and syringe with the medication until ready to inject into the bag: 06:04 Grab a mini-bag and clean injection port: 06:17 Remove needle cap - inject your medication into the mini-bag: 06:53 Lock your needle and place it in sharps container: 07:27 Complete the IV medication label and attach it to the bag: 07:36 Gently mix the bag: 08:11 Ready your secondary IV tubing, check for kinks, moving roller closest to the chamber: 08:20 Spike the mini-bag & hang it on IV pole: 09:28 Position the primary IV solution LOWER than mini-bag: 09:50 Squeeze chamber to fill with fluid - prime secondary line: 10:06 Clean the upper-most port on the primary line - attach the secondary line to this port: 10:57 *Variation* reverse priming secondary line (ONLY IF PRIMARY SOLUTION IS Normal Saline): 11:49 Use the primary line roller to set the rate (even for the secondary line): 13:04 Confirm your drip rate by counting drops for 1 full minute.
