Eureka is a charming old mining town on the way to Little Sahara sand dunes. When I visited here recently not much, if anything, has changed over decades. There is a restaurant, a thrift shop, and a biker gift shop that is open and that is it. The rest of Main Street still has existing old buildings that are vacant and in disrepair. There is still quite a lot to stop and see while passing through. POINTS OF INTEREST • a walk along Main Street and view all the old buildings • Porter Rockwell's log cabin • a stop for a beverage at the Gas Hole • the old town jail • Tintic Mining Museum I recommend taking a moment and explore an aerial view using Google Maps.
