See more detailed information about the flight in the description and in the pinned comment! In this video I invite you to join me on one of the most historic flights in the world. The Alaska Airlines Milk Run! And not just any Alaska Milk Run. The routing presented here is the longest possible routing, which visits all but one of the 9 Milk Run cities. Sadly, there is no possible routing that allows you to stop at all 9 Milk Run cities in one swoop. The Alaska Airlines Milk Run has existed in some form since the 1930s, and for many of the Milk Run cities these flights are their daily link to the outside world. Many Milk Run cities are not connected to the rest of Alaska, The United States, or Canada by roads, which is where the flights got their nicknames. Many vital supplies get to these small communities on these Alaska Airlines flights, including milk. Today the routes are severed primarily by Alaska's 737-700s. The passenger and cargo operations are split and both full passenger 737-700s and full cargo 737-700s visit these cities daily. In the past, Alaska used combination, half passenger half cargo, 737-400s and 737-200s before that. The endcaps of the Milk Run are Anchorage, Alaska on the north end and Seattle Washington on the South end. There are then 7 cities in Alaska that are stops along the route. Those cities are Cordova, Yakutat, Juneau, Petersburg, Wragnell, Sitka, and Ketchikan. Alaska Airlines Milk Run segments are easy to find on the schedule as they are all two digit flight numbers beginning with 6. So any Alaska Airlines flight between 60-69 is a Milk Run segment. As mentioned above, it isn't possible to take one single flight that stops at all Milk Run cities. Alaska Airlines uses Juneau as a "midpoint" and the flights get broken up there. In this video, I've presented the longest possible routing you can take in one swoop by combining two separate Milk Run segments. Flight 66 from Anchorage to Juneau, with stops in Cordova and Yakutat, and then flight 64 from Juneau to Seattle, with stops in Petersburg, Wrangell, and Ketchikan. This routing drops only 1 Milk Run city, that being Sitka. With that information, it's time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the journey!
